The Intel LGA1700 platform remains a favorite among competitive overclockers, especially when it comes to CPU frequency.
Chinese enthusiasts boast new achievements in this area. A team led by overclocker Wytiwx managed to boost the Intel Core i9-14900KF to 9206.34 MHz, setting a new world CPU frequency record.
The Wytiwx team's benchmark setup was based on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard, and the Core i9-14900KF processor was running in a 7P configuration during the experiments. They also mentioned using 16 GB of RAM and a 1600-watt ASUS ROG Thor series power supply. Naturally, extreme cooling was employed for the processor, provided by a liquid helium "cup."
