Artificial intelligence-based technologies are currently being actively used for upscaling in games, and developers are integrating AI-based tools into various stages of game creation.

NVIDIA is considered a pioneer in the advancement of AI in the gaming industry, but AMD also has significant ambitions in this area. Journalists have highlighted an AMD patent describing an "AI-based gaming and rendering engine."

This engine will be able to generate images and 3D scenes based on simplified schematic input data. A large LLM model will process the input data, taking into account basic pre-built frames, diffuse kinematics, and animation, sending it to final rendering. The final stage before outputting the frames will be styling and upscaling.

So far, this is all a patent, and AMD itself hasn't made any announcements yet. But the patent description is quite detailed. So the company is clearly moving in this direction and intends to publicly release a graphics engine based on the patented technologies at some point. And this could seriously change the industry.
